At this event, there are thousands from around the world who are dedicated to electronic tinkering. In her 2016 book The Pentagons Brain: An Uncensored History of DARPA. Why attend this event? DEFCON is known for its speaker presentations/demonstrations of security-related subjects. As of May 26th, 2016, there were over 20k people confirmed and registered to attend for DEFCON 2015. Workshops range from lockpicking, Capture the Flag, and scavenger hunt.
